Severe winds up to 65mph are causing travel disruptions across the UK, with multiple road closures and ferry cancellations. This follows Storm Darragh's deadly impact, bringing winds up to 95mph.

The Met Office has warned of severe winds up to 65mph, which could lead to significant delays across road,rail,air and ferry services in the UK on Wednesday.One warning spans large parts of nothern England ,including Sheffield and Leeds , and lasts from 3amto 2pm.Forecasters have indicated that gusts of 50-60mph are impossible, with even higher speeds in more exposed locations. Another warning Wales and parts of north-west England will expire at 9am, with expected gusts at 45-55mph, and potentially uoto 65mph along the coast.
This morning ,motorists and commuters faced closed roads and train delays as the high winds hit.The M48 Severn Bridge was shut in both directions due to strong winds, with traffic being redirected via the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.In south-east Wales ,the b4269 between Llanellen and Llanfoist was briefly closed by Gwent Police ,reopening around 6.15am.Ferry services ,such as the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's overnight service from Heysham to Douglas, were also impacted ,altough other Wednesday services are expected to operate normally.

The Met Office indicates that the windy weather will persist,with an active jet stream steering deep areas of low pressure toward the UK.These warnings follow the recent devastation caused by Storm Darragh , which brought 95mph winds,resulting in two deaths and significant damage.Red ''danger to life'' warnings were issued , a rare occurence, highlighting the severity of the storm.Areas such as Llandudno pier in North Wales saw substantial destruction, with strong winds causing wide spread issues and hundreds of flights being cancelled or diverted.
