Thanks giving travel woes: Weather Challenges Across the US

Travelers, brace yourselves for a challenging Thanksgiving week as messy weather sweeps across the US. The National Weather Service warns of rain, snow, and cold temperatures disrupting travel nationwide.

The East Coast will see the worst weather closer to Thanksgiving, with rain and snow expected by Thursday. Higher elevations and colder states like Maine and New Hampshire could experience significant snowfall. Meanwhile, the Southeast faces rain and a cold front the same day.

In the Midwest and Great Lakes region, heavy lake-effect snow is possible by the weekend, making travel conditions tricky.

Out West, a winter storm warning is in effect for California’s Sierra Nevada, with heavy snow and winds up to 50 mph hitting higher elevations. Central California is also expecting another atmospheric river event, while the Pacific Northwest could see more coastal rain. Communities there are still recovering from last week’s bomb cyclone, which caused severe flooding and power outages.

Wherever you're headed, check forecasts, stay prepared, and travel safely!
