Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Logistics and Radar Sites

Ukrainian defense forces have conducted a series of strikes against Russian military infrastructure, targeting radar stations, ammunition depots, and logistics sites. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, these operations took place between September 28 and the night of September 29, 2026.

What was targeted in the recent operations?

The Ukrainian military reported hitting a 39N6 Kasta radar station located in Manhush, Donetsk Oblast. Additionally, the forces targeted Russian UAV ground control stations in Kyrnosove and Novoaidar, both located in Luhansk Oblast.

Operations also focused on supply chains. Ammunition depots were reported struck in several locations, including Druzhnie in Luhansk Oblast, Novoiehorivka in Kharkiv Oblast, and Kachkarske in Donetsk Oblast. A logistics depot located in Komysh-Zoria, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, was also confirmed by the General Staff as a target of these strikes.

Why are logistics hubs being targeted?

Military analysts suggest that Ukraine is shifting its campaign to focus on the broader supply chain of the Russian military industry. Because some fortified facilities deep inside Russia remain difficult to reach or penetrate with current drone technology, military analyst Vasyl Pekhno noted that targeting bottlenecks in the logistics chain is a strategic effort to disrupt weapon production and distribution.

Recent reports indicate a trend of targeting chemical industry facilities related to solid rocket fuel production. These efforts come as Ukraine continues to seek vulnerabilities in Russian military assets, including radar systems and ground control stations, to offset challenges related to missile and heavy system development.
