FollowinTrend Live, updating

How we verify stories

FollowinTrend starts from public search trends, then checks them against named news sources before anything is published.

The verification gate

A story is published automatically only if it has at least one official or primary source (a government, league, organiser or company announcement) or at least two independent news outlets. A trending search alone never proves what happened, so stories that do not pass are saved as drafts for a person to check.

Stories that always get a human check

Crime, deaths and accidents, conflict and disasters, politics and legal claims, and health and medical stories are never auto-published. A person reviews them first.

One story, many countries

When the same story trends in several countries we publish one main article and list the other countries on it, instead of many near-identical pages.

Updates and corrections

We re-check the sources of recent stories. When a genuinely new fact appears, the article is updated and marked with an Update note and the date. Mistakes are marked as a Correction. Send tips and corrections through the Contact page.

AI use

Articles are drafted with AI from the named sources and checked by the rules above. Images are labelled as illustrative where they are not from the event.
