Why it is trending now

The film is garnering attention following reports that it was inspired by a short story written by Ursula Wills, a Gloucestershire author. The narrative, which follows an ostracised fisherwoman, has been adapted into an A-list feature film.

Why this is trending in United Kingdom

The interest in the United Kingdom is linked to the film's local connection, as the story was written by a Gloucestershire author who drew inspiration from a Cornish holiday. The film's upcoming national release has brought the project to the attention of local audiences.

Background and context

Ursula Wills developed the idea for her story after seeing an art trail of wicker sculptures, including a stag and a giant spider. While the original story focused on a fisherwoman who pays a basket-maker to weave a husband, screenwriters have adapted the material for the big screen. The film has been described by its author as a unique project that she expects will resonate with viewers.

What happens next

The film will be available to the public in UK cinemas starting 30 October 2026. Following the release, audiences will have the opportunity to see how the original short story was adapted for the screen.
