GTA 6 PC Release Status and Xbox Streaming Deal Explained

As of October 13, 2026, Rockstar Games has not confirmed a PC release for Grand Theft Auto VI, leaving many players searching for updates on whether the title will arrive on the platform. While the developer remains silent on a PC version, recent reports have clarified how the game will be accessible through cloud services.

What happened with the Xbox streaming deal?

Microsoft has secured rights to stream Grand Theft Auto VI through its Xbox Cloud Gaming service at the game's launch. During an employee all-hands meeting, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma indicated that the company is preparing for a unique approach regarding the title. While initial reports suggested the deal might be exclusive or specifically targeted at PC users, Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball clarified on X that the streaming agreement is not exclusive to Microsoft and is not specifically for PC platforms.

Why this is trending in United States

The search interest in the United States reflects high anticipation for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series. Because Rockstar Games has historically released PC versions of its titles after console launches, American players are closely monitoring any news regarding platform availability.

What is confirmed and what is not

It is confirmed that Microsoft has a deal to stream the game via Xbox Cloud Gaming when it launches. However, it is not confirmed if or when a native PC version of the game will be released by Rockstar Games. Furthermore, the duration of the streaming agreement between Microsoft and the publisher remains undisclosed.
